Architecture Program

The International Law program at Rauf Denktas University is a four-year program that leads to a Bachelor of Laws (L.L.B.) degree. The language of instruction for this program is English. The program has been designed with the international employability of the graduates in mind. The students will be equipped with all necessary theoretical and professional traits needed to launch a successful career in International Law. The program also equips students with the knowledge and the skill set needed for graduates to carry out research in the field of International Law.

As an architect you’ll design new buildings or extensions or alterations to existing structures, and advise on the restoration and conservation of old properties.

Goal & Objectives

The International Law degree program at Rauf Denktas University aims to provide students with the necessary knowledge and the required skill set for students to enter the job market immediately after graduation. The International Law program at Rauf Denktas University has been designed in a way that students gain both the theoretical and the practical knowledge needed to carry out their tasks in the above mentioned professional capacity. The program covers the core knowledge base of the field during the first four semesters and builds on that core in subsequent semesters to provide an in depth understanding of all major branches of the discipline.

The International Law program aspires to provide quality education as well as conducting quality research in the field of International Law. In line with this aspiration, the program has a vision to be placed among the most reputable law programs in the region. The program prioritizes the international employability of its graduates and has therefore been designed in line with consultations with domestic and international stakeholders (including academics, students, and employers).

Career Opportunities

Those who graduate from the International Law program are expected to be able to take up positions in law firms and arbitration centers as legal practitioners, advisors and arbiters. They may also be hired by private corporations as permanent legal staff responsible for drafting contracts and supervising their implementation. The program prepares the students to take over various positions in international, regional, and non-governmental organizations as well.

Program Learning Outcomes

Program graduates will be equipped with all the knowledge, skills and competencies that comprise the program learning outcomes (PLOs) to successfully join the field.
Upon successful completion of the program, graduates are able to:

  1. Identify and effectively use the sources of International Law in research and in practice.
    2. Demonstrate an understanding of substantive and procedural international law in research and practice.
    3. Demonstrate a general knowledge of legal and non-legal skills including basic legal information, information technology, English, Turkish.
    4. Make legally valid arguments in relation to international legal issues.
    5. Compose logically coherent and theoretically valid papers on International Law.
    6. Apply international law in the context of simulations and internships in law firms, NGOs, IGOs, and foreign ministries.
  2. Basic knowledge and understanding of ethical issues and socially responsible behaviours.
    8. Develop critical thinking skills and show a high level of teamwork capability.
    9. Develop effective oral and written communication skills.
