Prof. Dr. Mehmet Karaca

Biography

A distinguished atmospheric scientist and academic leader with extensive experience in higher education, research, and institutional management. Prof. Dr. Karaca graduated from Pertevniyal High School in Istanbul and earned his undergraduate and master's degrees from ITU Faculty of Basic Sciences, Department of Meteorology in 1979 and 1981 respectively. He completed his second master's in 1985 and PhD in Atmospheric Sciences from UCLA in 1990. He served as faculty member at ITU Eurasia Earth Sciences Institute until September 2024 and was honored with a Doctor of Science degree in Geography from Tashkent Architecture and Civil Engineering University (TAQU) in 2023.
