Rauf Denktas University (RDU) took its name from the founding and long-term president of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).
RDU is established in the capital city of Nicosia (North Cyprus) and it is recognized by the competent educational authorities of TRNC, the National Ministry of Education and Culture and the Higher Education Accreditation and Coordination Council (YODAK) and Higher Education Council (YOK) in Turkey.
RDU providing world-standard education is currently under the process of accrediting its programs from a credible external accreditation agency such as The Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation (FIBAA).

It gives utmost importance and priority to employability and internationalization of its curricula. Education for international employability is the motto of RDU. Its curricula are designed after taking the views of prospective employers, professional bodies and the academic consultants. Each program introduces students to the economies, cultures, values and legal aspects of the target countries, thus having graduates with competencies that enable them to be employed internationally.
The medium of instruction is English in all programs, except for Turkish Law. Courses at RDU are in line with the American Credit System and also the European Credit and Transfer System (ECTS). English Preparatory Program offers intensive English courses for students with low-level English, while students with relatively better English are offered mathematics and computer skills, in addition to their reduced English classes.
